Bass n Babes made waves this past June when it launched its music label — the first to specifically focus on releasing bass music by women and queer artists! Now, Bass n Babes is back with its sophomore release, Bass n Babes Vol. II — a thirteen-track compilation that takes the listener on a journey through low-end frequencies and powerful underground sounds while championing unique expressions of feminine and LGBTQ art.

Bass n Babes Records is a proudly independent label with the mission of bridging the gap between the LGBTQ and bass music communities. Its namesake collective, Bass n Babes, is known for its immersive events, community organizing, and advocacy for gender diversity in the industry — all with an emphasis on connection and community.

Bass n Babes Vol. II embodies various sounds of bass music, including dubstep, 140, deep dub, drum & bass, experimental bass, UK garage, and trap. The compilation showcases women and LGBTQ artists rising from the bass music scenes of Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Orlando, and Philadelphia.

Featured artists include: two girls one laptop (Auracle and Kurei’s new duo project), Aariaa, Baby Kush, ETHERA, farley., Hersoul, IIBARRA, Lex Looper, MICROPLASTIQUE, nomi, Roses Grimoire, Sorcerist, TrebleTina, TROWL, and VIOLET.

The Tracks

TrebleTina — Insomniac’s recent Project Glow Discovery Project winner — introduces the compilation. A pioneer behind Shades of Bass, a project pushing diversity, equity, and inclusion in electronic music, her track “Spaceship to Nirvana” blends dreamy vocals, trippy sound design, melodic elements, catchy arpeggios, and thunderous basslines. Reminiscent of Zingara, it’s a majestic bass anthem built for cosmic escape.

VIOLET and nomi return for their second Bass n Babes compilation, this time collaborating on “Free” — an emotional, cinematic track merging soft atmospheres with deep basslines and rhythmic drums. With elements of trap and dubstep, and influences from Zingara and Austeria, “Free” lands as a poignant and experimental statement.

Baby Kush, founder and visionary behind Bass n Babes, contributes “On A Trip,” her second track for the label. It’s a passionate, nostalgic journey defined by hard-hitting drops, gritty basslines, and Auracle’s breathtaking vocals. Balancing masculine and feminine energy, Baby Kush draws inspiration from Zingara, Austeria, and Sippy.

TROWL delivers “Oblivion Wing”, a dark and thrilling exploration of tech, art, and nature. With ominous soundscapes and eerie bass-driven melodies, it channels the deep, haunting energy of Leo Cap and Distinct Motive.

two girls one laptop (Kurei and Auracle) follow with “desire <3”, their debut release as a duo. Seductive vocals, deep basses, and ethereal atmospheres create a soft yet moody sound — a sensual, feminine twist on the worlds of Of The Trees and CharlestheFirst.

ETHERA’s “Trinity” is a liquid drum & bass gem — mystical, cinematic, and emotive. It’s filled with somber vocal textures, heavy bass, and organic percussion that showcase her signature sound.

Lex Looper explores queer identity and discovery with “Moment of Clarity.” Through hypnotic arpeggios, deep basslines, and relentless breakbeats, the track documents a night of realization and transformation. A dark, introspective journey reminiscent of Mary Droppinz, TMSV, and Drone.

IIBARRA’s “Science is Sexy” is a half-time drum & bass banger packed with punchy drums, bold vocals, and playful energy. Founder of Babs Productions, IIBARRA continues to champion underground bass and sound system culture.

Roses Grimoire heats things up with “ThirstTRAP,” a genre-bending, empowering anthem blending rock & roll, trap, and bass. It’s a fierce, fun, and nostalgic celebration of self-expression and confidence — a reminder that individuality always slaps harder.

farley. and Hersoul team up for “CROWN,” a raw and fiery trap track laced with crunchy bass, crisp drums, and bold vocals.

Sorcerist’s “tócame” fuses Latin heat with bouncy trap energy. Seductive grooves, melodic hooks, and flirtatious vocals make it a bass-powered tango of confidence, power, and desire.

MICROPLASTIQUE debuts with “RHYTHM FREQ,” a fearless, playful club weapon serving breaks, UK club, and hyperpop energy. It’s sassy, silly, and impossible not to move to — made for the girls, gays, and theys.

Aariaa closes the compilation with “Can We Bo Back,” a cinematic UK garage anthem infused with bass house and two-step grooves. Emotional yet high-energy, it captures the nostalgic pulse of the UK underground.

The album artwork, designed by ArtFaerie, perfectly embodies the queer, ethereal, and feminine energy at the heart of Bass n Babes.
