Anti Up Drop Second Portola Festival Fan Favorite, “I Cannot”
Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo double down on their Portola hype by releasing the follow-up to fellow festival ID, "Maximum."

Portola Festival will remain a part of Anti Up's lore for the foreseeable future, not only as their lone festival set of 2025 but as the launchpad for their two dance floor fillers this year: September's "Maximum" and now, "I Cannot."
Like its fellow former Portola ID, "Maximum," Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo’s latest single under the Anti Up moniker popped off at the Bay Area festival in September, first inciting questions about its name and then calls for its release. Packing the punch of a 16-ounce can of Red Bull (wings included), "I Cannot" flaunts the attitude, presence, and sheer creativity customary to the pair’s productions. Although its vocal hook epitomizes ear candy, the cut's pièce de résistance is its kaleidoscopic drop, which tickles minds with each second that passes. Listen below.
Clearly, we aren't the only ones to feel its effect; Mau P and Peggy Gou are among the selectors who've played "I Cannot" to crowds around the world, from Los Angeles to Ibiza and everywhere in between. Expect this track to grow even more pervasive, thanks to its arrival via Anti Up's eponymous imprint.
“I Cannot” is out now via Anti Up. Buy it on Beatport.
