On ‘Like A Stranger’, Tollef shows a different side of his Say Cheese EP. The groove is still upbeat and the guitar riff keeps it moving, but there’s a bittersweet touch in the vocal that pulls at something deeper. It’s playful on the surface yet carries a hint of heartbreak, making it one of the most emotional cuts of the project. The contrast between the sad lyric and the bright melody gives the track a unique spark that stands out in the EP. It’s a song that makes you want to move, while still feeling the story behind it.

Tollef: While the other songs on the EP are upbeat and cheerful, ‘Like A Stranger’ is something a bit different. The emotion and lyrics of the vocal needed some kind of melancholic, but also hopeful, musical bed. The filtered chords struggling to open symbolize how someone in an ending relationship still carries a bit of hope and wants it to work out even though it might be too late. Who would’ve thought French House and melancholy would work so well together? I’ll let you be the judge.

Tollef is no stranger to OH2, marking his 10th release on the label. The Norwegian producer and guitarist is now further cementing himself into OH2 Records’ history and becoming a cornerstone artist on Oliver Heldens’ imprint. His latest EP, Commence, has surpassed 835,000 streams on Spotify alone and got supported by artists such as Oliver Heldens, Bingo Players, Feenixpawl, and MorganJ. He often delivers official remixes, recently reworked ‘Heart Cry’ by Oliver Heldens & Poppy Baskcomb. His remix was featured on the official remix pack and quickly became one of the standout tracks. His music has also been played in popular TV shows such as Love Island UK and Made in Chelsea.
