Behind The Party: Dengo Club (Lisbon)
Lisbon’s Dengo Club is rewriting the city’s underground story – centering Afro-Latin sounds, queer identity, and immigrant voices at the heart of the dance floor.

Born from the need to carve out a space where Afro-Latin sounds, queer energy, and immigrant voices could thrive, Dengo Club has become one of Lisbon’s most vital underground movements. Founded in 2021 by Brazilian DJ and promoter Saint Caboclo, the party emerged in response to a nightlife scene where diversity was too often missing behind the decks.
Dengo’s ethos is built on inclusion, identity, and rhythm. What began as a community-driven event quickly grew into a multidisciplinary platform celebrating Black, queer, and Afro-Latin culture across music, fashion, and art. The collective – now composed of Saint Caboclo, Sinnotsin, Soya Marega, and Banu – throw nights that feel like pure celebration: Afro house melting into hard techno, Baile Funk clashing with Guaracha, Kuduro colliding with Jersey Club and perreo. Every set tells a story of identity, connection, and cultural fire.
In 2023, Dengo expanded its mission with a new DJ agency spotlighting Lisbon’s next wave of talent. More than a party, Dengo Club is a movement redefining who gets to shape the future of electronic music in Lisbon and beyond.
