Soulwax release new album "All Systems Are Lying"

Soulwax return this Friday, 17 October, with their highly anticipated new album “All Systems Are Lying” — their first studio album in seven years — a visceral, rhythm-driven record built from modular synths, live drums, tape loops, and processed vocals. It captures the essence of a band performing electronic music as if it were the rock that featured so prominently in their upbringing: loud, physical, and meticulously alive. Released via DEEWEE / Because Music, it marks the next evolution in the Dewaeles’ ever-expanding creative universe — a band, a label, a soundsystem, and a philosophy built on restless invention.

To mark the release, on Wednesday 15 October at approximately 8pm local time in Brussels, the band projected the album’s charged title — ALL SYSTEMS ARE LYING — across a selection of landmark sites in the heart of the city, including the iconic European Commission building. The bold image turns the album’s themes of communication, noise, and distorted truths into a stark, cinematic statement in public space.

Formed by brothers David and Stephen Dewaele, Soulwax have spent more than two decades quietly building a creative universe: a band (Soulwax), DJs (2manydjs), a record label (DEEWEE), and a sound system (Despacio, alongside James Murphy). They’re widely regarded as one of the most forward-thinking remix and production teams of the 21st century — known for meticulous studio craft, boundary-breaking live shows, and projects that challenge what a band can be.

Their new album, All Systems Are Lying, bends reality with shimmering textures, hulking percussion, and voices pushed through the circuitry — a fearless fusion of performance and production. Recent tracks include the AA-side “All Systems Are Lying / Run Free,” “New Earth Time,” and the latest double single “Gimme a Reason / Meanwhile on the Continent.” It’s Soulwax at full bandwidth: visceral, loud, and unrelentingly forward-looking.

Following a summer that’s already seen them ignite festival stages across Europe, last month Soulwax announced a run of UK and European headline shows for the end of 2025 and start of 2026. These dates will bring their acclaimed three-drummer live show back to some of the continent’s most iconic venues — a tour that promises to capture the raw intensity and precision that defines the new record.

The run includes a special three-night residency (and approaching full sell-out) at Brussels’ Halles de Schaerbeek this December, before continuing in January with shows at Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse, London’s O2 Brixton Academy, Paris’ Salle Pleyel, and Amsterdam’s AFAS.
