Kölsch Shares Stunning Studio Album, 'KINEMA'
The visionary's ambrosial answer to 2023's 'I Talk To Water' will blossom on stages across Europe during his new live show, Kölsch and the Machine.

KINEMA is an album destined for the stage, and come October 23, Kölsch will take it there to premiere his new live show, Kölsch and the Machine, during Amsterdam Dance Event.
The concept “reimagines my sound through the raw, analog beauty of modular synthesizers,” he says. “For the first time ever, I’ll be bringing key parts of my personal studio setup on stage. This is more than a performance — it’s a deep, intimate journey into the way I create music, blending live improvisation with the melodic techno that has shaped my identity…At the heart of this project is a simple but powerful idea: I am inside the machine.”
From its dulcet swells of sound to its gorgeous instrumentation (like the strings on the Symphony of Unity version of “All That Matters”), to its wistful lyricism, KINEMA is a stirring, artful LP full of elements that will lend beautifully to live performance. The Danish producer’s follow-up to 2023’s I Talk To Water adds further depth to his already cerebral catalogue, unfurling with an ease and fluidity that thematically corresponds with its title: KINEMA, the Greek word for “movement.” Across its 10 tracks, the visionary cultivates an elegant album written for the inner headspace but dynamic enough to thrive beyond it. Listen below.
The succinct project is nearly a completely individual effort, save for collaborations with CamelPhat (“Waste my time”) and Bonn (“Sad Makes Me Happy"). From start to finish, it’s a supple and lulling look at Kölsch’s singular brand of emotive techno that hums with energy and momentum.
Following Kölsch and the Machine’s debut in Amsterdam, KINEMA will continue to blossom on stages across a handful of European cities, including Berlin, London, Paris, Antwerp, and Madrid. Tickets to what promises to be one of the year’s most skillful concept shows are available on Kölsch’s website.
