Helsloot Reimagines Sailor & I’s ‘Best of Me’ for a New Generation

‘Best of Me’ has already lived several lives. Originally released in 2020 with Ukrainian duo ARTBAT on Get Physical’s sister label METAPHYSICAL, the track quickly became a melodic techno anthem. The year after, Sailor & I included his own album version on Diving For Lost Treasure, showing its depth as a vocal-driven piece. Now, Dutch producer Helsloot breathes new life into this modern classic as part of his Body Language Vol. 27 compilation for Get Physical.

This marks the fifth single taken from the campaign leading to the album’s release on November 14. Helsloot takes the unforgettable vocal and frames it in a fresh, indie dance-leaning style. His version moves on a reduced but hypnotic bassline and crisp synth layers, perfectly suited for late-night drives or sunrise sessions. Traditional breakbeat elements weave through the groove, balancing modern melodic energy with a nod to classic electronic forms. At the centerpiece is Sailor & I’s vocal, laid bare in a dramatic break before Helsloot’s soaring synths rise in full force.

For Helsloot, known worldwide for his 600 million–stream hit ‘Because You Move Me’ with Tinlicker and his acclaimed debut album Never Tried, this remix shows his ability to respect iconic material while reshaping it with his own signature sound. It continues the story of Body Language, a series that began as a groundbreaking DJ mix project in the early 2000s and evolved into a modern artist album concept with Helsloot now steering its 27th edition.

Helsloot's ‘Best of Me’ version is a continuation of the track’s legacy. Uplifting, melodic, and timeless, it proves how a great vocal can transcend genres and generations when reimagined by the right hands.
