“In a time where social media algorithms can sometimes feel like they matter more than the art, this is about shining light on standout art," he says.

Max Styler’s Nu era is here, and with it comes “You & Me,” his lethal ID from Seismic Dance Event 2024 that now launches his record label and creative platform, Nu Moda.
“From the studio to the first time playing it live, it held an energy that felt fresh and intriguing,” Styler says of the single. “It fuses a lot of the sonic elements I’ve become known for while touching on some new textures, which is something I try to do with every new track.”
“You & Me” feels high stakes, tapping into a sexy sense of sonic drama where the air is thick with tension. No wonder, then, that he calls it the “only” record he ever wanted to kick off Nu Moda. Listen below.
Nu Moda’s introductory single sets a bold tone for what will come on the label, which is said to draw inspiration from urban life and subcultures. Judging by the intentionality of its debut release’s visual branding, from its vivid iconography to its custom typography, Nu Moda’s artistic identity will continue to evolve in a concept-driven fashion with both style and flair.
“With Nu Moda, we will build a home for music to translate authentically and let it speak first. It’s a place for artists to push boundaries, whether that be through production ability or who they are as people,” Styler tells Beatportal. “In a time where social media algorithms can sometimes feel like they matter more than the art, this is about shining light on standout art from undiscovered producer-DJs…as well as established ones. It doesn’t matter. Nu Moda is music first, over everything."
“For as long as I can remember, starting my own label has been one of my biggest goals. This is something that I’ve been working toward for many years, and now that the moment has arrived, I couldn’t be more excited,” he adds. “Beatport has been my go-to place to discover new artists and labels for many years, and it’s an honor to bring my own imprint to the platform. Discovering new music is absolutely one of my favorite things to do, and now with the label, I will be able to showcase my vision and build a community around the sounds and people that inspire me.”
Fittingly, Nu Moda will take further shape across a pair of events in Miami “designed to showcase” its sonic direction. The first, Nu Moda’s first official label party, curated by Styler, complete with a headlining set and special guests, will take place at Floyd during Art Basel on December 3. The second – a large-scale label showcase – will follow during Miami Music Week in March.
In the meantime, “You & Me” is out now via Nu Moda. Buy it on Beatport.
