The lyric with which MHITR: The Album kicks off – “Let’s get rowdy” – sets a raucous tone for the heady drum & bass that bangs across 17 tracks on Hedex’s awaited debut album. Led by three ear-catching singles, “Rowdy (BLAOW!)” with MC Eksman, “Same Cycle” alongside ArrDee and Digital Farm Animals, and “I Knew That This Was Love” featuring Maverick Sabre, the project flaunts the UK innovator’s sharp ear for where d&b is heading – a future that bears his fingerprints.

Short for “My Home Is The Rave,” MHITR: The Album expands Hedex’s stock of compelling collaborations with definitive crossover appeal. Take, for example, the heavy-handed grit of “Dance Dance Dance” with Rou Reynolds, frontman of UK rock/electronic band Enter Shikari, or the warm soul of “I Knew That This Was Love” with Sabre. Hedex flashes these cross-genre influences with a smartness and a tightness that embolden the LP while solidifying his status as an indispensable talent in contemporary d&b. Listen below.

Hedex's hefty offering puts an exclamation point on his recent album release UK tour, which concluded with a stop at Unit 13 in Nottingham on October 9. The six-date effort boasted sold-out dates in Leeds, Brighton, and Southampton – barometers for the British force's existing (and increasing) impact.

MHITR: The Album is out now via My Home Is The Rave. Buy it on Beatport.
