Archie Hamilton’s MicroHertz welcomes Liverpool talents Candidate & Saigon for their label debut with the Steady On EP

Candidate & Saigon bring their shared energy and vision to MicroHertz with Steady On EP, a sharp two-track dancefloor-focused release that captures the spirit of the underground, and highlights the next wave of talent.

Candidate 26 Saigon 1 1

“Steady On” is a slick and hypnotic house cut built on a rolling groove and deep, low-end flow. Subtle, sexy vocals keep the energy tight, while nostalgic chord stabs and vintage organs add depth without distracting from the track’s locked-in rhythm. Understated but powerful, it’s the kind of tune that thrives in heads-down club moments.

“So Dangerous” raises the intensity, powered by punchy basslines and a vocal hook that cuts through with attitude. Raw and edgy yet hypnotic, the track is a confident, floor-focused cut with undeniable underground bite.

Liverpool-born Candidate has carved out his space in the underground with a hip-house infused sound and breakout releases on Hottrax, Nexup, Three Six Zero, and Belief. His debut Bass Revolution EP on Nexup hit #1 on Beatport in just two days, a clear sign of his rising momentum. Beyond the studio, Candidate has lit up stages across the UK and Europe, from Lab 11, 93 Feet East, and Depot Cardiff to Italian hotspots like After Caposile. Having strong support from names such as Jamie Jones, Archie Hamilton, East End Dubs, ALISHA, and Max Dean, his trajectory shows no signs of slowing down.

Saigon, also hailing from Liverpool, brings a wealth of experience with releases across respected imprints including Belief, Range, Dansu Discs, Resonance, Nature, TSZ, and Glasgow Underground. A regular on the live circuit, he’s played sets for Defected in Ibiza and supported heavyweights such as Marco Carola, Pawsa, Chris Stussy, ANOTR, Josh Baker, Prunk, and Sidney Charles. With his tracks receiving play at major parties like Music On, No Art, You&Me, Eastenderz, and Warehouse Project, and a busy release schedule ahead, Saigon is firmly cementing his reputation as a name to watch.
