ILLENIUM Recalls His 'ASCEND' Era on Stirring Single "Forever," with Tom Grennan and Alna
“This one’s for the OGs,” he says.

With a sense of wistfulness and familiar sonic DNA, ILLENIUM’s latest single, “Forever,” plays like a love letter to his ASCEND era, picking up where he left off on the album that drew his lauded “A” album name series (led by Ashes and Awake) to a close. From its reflective, guitar-threaded heartache, anthemic melody, and belt-along lyrics, the track feels a lot like an extension of ASCEND’s “Good Things Fall Apart (with Jon Bellion),” which remains one of the producer's most-streamed songs to date.
This time around, Tom Grennan and Alna trade verses, reminiscing on what could have been in a moment of reflection that hits its apex in Grennan’s hook: “Tell me did we almost have forever?” Steeped in the emotional openness that’s always been at the heart of his sound, “This one’s for the OGs,” says ILLENIUM. Listen below.
“Forever” trails the producer’s recent double-single, “Refuge” with Norma Jean Martine and “Ur Alive,” featuring WYLDE, further paving the path to “his most ambitious project yet,” per Republic Records.
“Forever” is out now via Republic Records. Buy it on Beatport.
