After the World Collapsed: the dystopian world of Madd Rod
Berlin’s Madd Rod drops his latest dark disco EP After the World Collapsed on NEIN Records, featuring four hypnotic, cinematic tracks, out September 5th on Beatport and September 19th on all platforms.

Madd Rod's dystopian world gets expanded with After the World Collapsed EP a four-track exploration of dark disco, cinematic tension, and hypnotic grooves. Released via London’s NEIN Records, the label helmed by Tronik Youth, the EP blends the epic scope of the label’s aesthetic with Madd Rod’s personal vision.
Opening the EP, Madd Rod delivers punk-shout vocals over shimmering Italo synths, evoking an 80s-inflected dreamscape. The track is simultaneously edgy and emotive, balancing nostalgia with a modern underground sensibility. A love song for the dancefloor, raw but meticulously constructed.
Acid-leaning and hypnotic, this track pulls the listener deep into its groove. Madd Rod’s trippy vocals drift over looping, fractured synths, creating a hypnotic dark disco experience that’s as introspective as it is danceable.
At 118 BPM, Math Lab is precise and obscure, blending dark disco finesse with infectious rhythm. Every element is carefully placed, creating tension and movement for the dancefloor while rewarding focused listening off it.
The title track closes the EP with cinematic, dystopian textures. Slow-burning and immersive, it features Madd Rod reading and writing a post-apocalyptic poem over expansive synths. The track lingers, unsettling and mesmerizing, a fitting finale for the EP’s narrative arc.
With its Beatport-exclusive debut on September 5th and wider release on September 19th across all platforms, After the World Collapsed confirms Madd Rod’s ability to merge dark disco, narrative-driven electronics, and cinematic atmospheres into a cohesive, compelling EP.
