Few tunes have the kind of cult status that "What’s a Girl to Do" carries. First dropped in 2004 under Dutch artist Bas Bron's previously anonymous Fatima Yamaha moniker, it bubbled in the underground for years before Dekmantel’s 2015 reissue turned it into a certified dance floor anthem for the ages.
Now it’s getting its biggest glow-up yet. Over 20 years since its initial release, Bas Bron has tapped a slew of talented acts such as JAEL, Legowelt, Ineffekt, Tom Trago, and more to put their spin on this iconic track. Now, Amsterdam's rave powerhouse KI/KI has stepped in with an official remix that hits like a rush of peak-time adrenaline – driving, bubbly, and built for the kind of hands-in-the-air moments that leave you in a state of euphoria. Listen below.
“The moment Bas and his team reached out to work on this track I freaked out,” KI/KI says. “This track was a big part of my early raving days and I had it on repeat while going to my first festivals. Being able to give it my own energy was such an amazing experience.”
With her signature trance power and dialed-in energy, KI/KI manages to honor Fatima Yamaha’s dreamy original while flipping it into something completely her own – a proper 2025 dance floor bomb that’s about to go off everywhere.
The remix lands just as KI/KI’s stock is going through the roof – fresh off a monster collab with Marlon Hoffstadt for the single "Losing Control", three razor sharp tunes on her SLASH imprint and hotly-tipped sets at festival's like Lowlands, HARD Summer, ARC Music Festival, and more.
