JP Castro releases ‘Through My Mind’ on ERRORR and breaks into Beatport Hype Top 5
Brazilian DJ and producer JP Castro is shaping a melodic and emotional sound that positions him among the new voices of the global electronic scene.
JP Castro unveils his new single “Through My Mind”, released on ERRORR in collaboration with European singer Lacey. The track captures the essence of the Recife-born, São Paulo–based artist: melodic, emotional, and crafted to resonate both on the dancefloor and in more personal listening moments. Recognition came quickly, as within just a few days it entered the Top #5 on Beatport Hype’s Melodic House & Techno chart, standing out among the genre’s latest releases.
The starting point was a chord on the piano, the instrument that often guides JP’s creative process.
“I always begin by searching for a melody that truly moves me. When the central line appeared, I realized it carried everything I wanted to express,” he explains.
That melody became the backbone of the track, even before any lyrics were written.
In “Through My Mind”, technique and emotion find a natural balance. JP built the arrangement quickly and intuitively, leaving technical refinements for the end.
“I see technique as a tool to amplify emotion. First comes the feeling, then the polishing.”
The collaboration with Lacey shaped the song’s narrative. Despite the physical distance, the two wrote the lyrics and vocal melodies together, exchanging files and ideas online.
“It was amazing to feel so connected without ever meeting in person. His voice brought exactly what the melody was asking for,” JP recalls.
The result is a track that feels deeply personal yet invites listeners to create their own interpretations.
“Some will dance, others will listen on headphones in intimate moments — and both are valid. What matters is that the music reaches people in their own way.”
With recent appearances at festivals like Tomorrowland Brasil and performances alongside names such as Eric Prydz and Black Coffee, JP Castro demonstrates with “Through My Mind” that his work is aligned with a global scene in constant transformation, while staying true to the personal imprint that sets him apart.
