Plugin Boutique Launches New de:constructed Event Series with Anjunadeep Artist Rezident

Plugin Boutique’s newly launched de:constructed series kicked off on August 11 in London, with the first session hosted in a studio at pointblank Music School. The series is designed to bring producers closer to the artists they admire, offering a hands-on approach to learning music production across genres.

Each edition of de:constructed invites a guest artist to break down their tracks, share production techniques, and reveal insights from their creative journey, providing an inspiring and accessible entry point into professional-level production.

Anjunadeep rising artist, Rezident, opened the series, demonstrating the creation of two tracks, including the lead single from his newly released album Feeling Fades

A producer since the age of fifteen, Rezident’s musical journey made him the ideal first guest for the creative exploration de:constructed sets out to deliver.

Raised on classical music and inspired by artists such as Deadmau5, Bonobo, and Flume, his approach now blends elements of techno, house, trance, and ambient, reflecting both his influences and the realities of life in Berlin.

In an interview ahead of the session, Rezident spoke about the artists who shaped his sound and highlighted the tools that continue to define it. His setup includes synths such as Omnisphere, Diva, and Arturia emulations, along with effects like FabFilter Saturn 2Pro-Q, and Ableton Live’s native plugins.

On the day, these tools came to life during a walkthrough of Only for A Moment (listen below). Attendees saw how intricate drum layering, creative basslines, and processed guitar loops combine to form his signature sound.

Rezident also shared technical insights on workflow optimisation, including setting up Send and Return tracks in Ableton Live for precise effect control, and creating a custom mix monitoring system by routing his Ableton session output into Reaper, loading plugins, and controlling them via MIDI to hear exactly what he wants with speed and accuracy.

Less than twenty-four hours after performing to thousands at the sold-out Anjunadeep Open Air at Greenwich’s historic Naval College, Rezident was in front of just fifteen people at pointblank Music School, offering an intimate deep dive into his creative process. Students and fans leaned in as he unpacked the euphoric moments he has become known for, combining technical demonstration with personal reflection.

Later in the session, Rezident presented a work-in-progress track, Shapeshift, offering a rare glimpse into an unreleased production.

Highlights included his intricate bass effects chain, transforming a short high-pitched percussive sound into a plucky bass line, and his spectral resonator guitar techniques, from saturation, automating decay times, to preserving transients with Ableton Live’s Gate device, providing attendees with actionable insights to integrate into their own productions.

A lively Q&A followed, covering production techniques, how to move past the 8 bar loop and where to get feedback from.

The first edition of de:constructed gave attendees hands-on access to Rezident’s workflow, along with the chance to connect and learn. Each participant also received an exclusive Excite Audio software bundle from Plugin Boutique to support their own productions. The series will continue in the coming months, offering more opportunities for producers to learn directly from the artists who are making it.

We’d like to thank pointblank Music School for generously providing the space for this session, and Anjunadeep for their support in coordinating with Rezident and helping make the event possible.
