"One of my all-time favourite songs as a teenager was ‘Dilemma’... When I found out it sampled Patti LaBelle, I knew I had to flip it into a house banger,” says Topping.

Pulsing with tireless tech house energy, Patrick Topping’s spry new single “Want U” isn’t exactly new. The producer has steadily rinsed the track since it premiered at Creamfields 2024, but this period of heavy road testing hits its climax with the song’s release via Topping’s Trick label.
Pure dance floor serenity, “Want U” is a syrupy slice of tech house heaven that thrusts Patti LaBelle’s 1983 single “Love, Need and Want You” into the 21st century. With it, Topping issues a nod not only to the LaBelle staple, but also to Kelly Rowland and Nelly's 2002 song, “Dilemma,” which famously sampled “Love, Need and Want You.”
"One of my all-time favourite songs as a teenager was ‘Dilemma’... When I found out it sampled Patti LaBelle, I knew I had to flip it into a house banger. This one’s a proper end-of-the-night tune,” says Topping.

Hï Ibiza clubgoers can catch “Want U” at the White Isle hotspot all summer long, where Topping has and will continue to appear every Wednesday, thanks to his residency with Dom Dolla.
"Want U" is out now via Trick, extending Topping's steady stream of singles by tacking on to June's "Ocean." Buy it on Beatport.
