The four-track release dives into improvisation, instinct, and machine-led club experimentation.

Beatport Next artist Ma Sha returns with Hydrofalla four-track EP out now via Steel City Dance Discs that leans into instinct, motion, and full creative surrender.

“This record is me diving in – no map, no plan,” she says. “Improvised, messy, but carried by something I trusted.”

Crafted through jam sessions and live synth experiments, Hydrofall ditches overthinking in favor of feel-first spontaneity. The lead track "Sealegs" sets the tone – flickering textures and swaying rhythms that feel like standing on shifting ground. From the sharp, metallic pulse of "B Effect" to the dubby haze of "Aluga" and the ritualistic glow of "Pelagik," each tune explores a different kind of surrender. Listen below.

The Digitone was her go-to tool throughout, guiding her toward sounds that felt alive rather than polished. “It became less about designing sound and more about listening to where the sound wanted to go,” she says.

Known for her unpredictable, body-led productions on Nervous Horizon, TraTraTrax, and her own Kindergarten label, Ma Sha continues to blur lines between the club, the experimental, and the emotional.

With Hydrofall and a big summer ahead – including her live set debut at MUTEK Montreal – she’s making big waves as part of Beatport Next’s 2025 class.
