Tomorrowland 2025 will go ahead as planned this afternoon, despite a massive fire earlier this week that destroyed the festival’s iconic Mainstage just days before opening.

In a dramatic show of resilience, organisers confirmed in a statement released this morning that the gates to the festival grounds in Boom, Belgium, will open at 14:00 CEST today, July 18th. An alternative Mainstage setup is scheduled to be unveiled by 16:00, pending final safety checks and weather conditions.

"WE WILL UNITE," reads the official statement issued at 12:13 CEST today. "Our teams are working day and night, with heart and soul, to turn the impossible into reality: Tomorrowland Belgium 2025 will open doors at 14:00… Tomorrowland will unite, stronger than ever."

The decision to proceed comes after an intense 48 hours following a catastrophic blaze that tore through the elaborate Mainstage - known this year as Orbyz - on the morning of Wednesday, July 16th. Firefighters were seen battling the flames in videos circulated on social media, with local authorities later confirming that no one was injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Festival organisers acted quickly, ensuring that all other stages and infrastructure remained untouched and operational. In the immediate aftermath, a contingency plan was set in motion - one involving hundreds of crew members working around the clock to erect a new stage concept from scratch.

A spokesperson for the festival, Debby Wilmsen, stated yesterday that “whatever's in our power” would be done to welcome festival-goers as scheduled. “It’s a race against time,” she said, “but we’re doing this together with the best and most amazing people in the world.

Indeed, for fans arriving at DreamVille - the festival’s campsite - the energy has remained palpably hopeful. Organisers described the atmosphere there as "heartwarming," citing global support as a key motivator behind the massive reconstruction effort.

In a touching tribute posted Thursday morning, Tomorrowland acknowledged the emotional loss of the Orbyz Mainstage:

"This wasn’t just a stage. It was a living, breathing world… From the very first sketch on a blank page, to countless hours of conceptual design, artistic collaboration, engineering, crafting, building - every single piece of Orbyz carried part of our soul."

Despite rampant online speculation and false claims of cancellation, organisers were quick to label such reports as “fake news.” Today’s announcement firmly dispels any lingering doubt: Tomorrowland 2025 is happening as planned.

As tens of thousands descend on Boom once again, the message is clear: even in adversity, the People of Tomorrow will unite.
