Salsoul was one of the most influential record companies in the disco era, and its digitally re-mastered catalog is now available exclusively in high quality .wav and .mp3 files on Beatport.

Founded in 1974 by the three brothers Joe, Ken and Stanley Cayre, Salsoul burgeoned to become one of the largest and most legendary disco and funk catalogs in history, having released over 300 disco 12” singles and albums throughout the disco era.

Tom Stephan releases ‘Asseteria: Live from NYC’ compilation

Nervous Records sees London transplant Tom Stephan, aka Superchumbo, releasing his latest compilation titled ‘Asseteria’, named after the raucous and raunchy afterhours party that’s been a staple in New York nightlife since 2000.

The Sunday night/early Monday party has won the “Best Party” title at the Club World Awards for three consecutive years and frequently includes such props as a giant ass cut out spewing smoke, alongside rolling video images of bodacious bottoms projected across the walls.

And what better way to celebrate such a riotous event than immortalize it on a CD?

Interview: Steve Hulme, Director of Pacha Recordings

Pacha is one of the biggest brands in dance music, having successfully spread its sophisticated club formula to the four corners of the world through a strong network of club franchises.

There are Pacha nightclubs in New York City, Buenos Aires, London, Sao Paulo, Munich and Madrid, and the original Pacha nightclub in Ibiza is considered to be one of the finest venues in the world.

But surprisingly, the twin-cherries powerhouse has never offered the label’s catalog digitally. Until today.

Pacha Recordings has big ambitions to become one of the biggest record labels in house music, and with 30 years of Pacha success behind it few will stand in its way.

Beatportal caught up with Steve Hulme, Director of Pacha Recordings, and grilled him about the label’s big plans and why he thinks it’ll be a top 5 label on Beatport before the year is out.
