Culprit 1 (aka James Hannam) is a London-based electronic producer, born and raised in Wales, UK. He gained a music degree at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and since graduating, has lectured on music technology and composition at several British universities. He has also built up a considerable portfolio of remixes for artists including Kaiser Chiefs, The Automatic and Orbital’s Paul Hartnoll. His debut album “Running in Order” was released in June 2007 and is available at Beatport. The BBC Music website labelled it as “a key record in the next generation of dance talent.”

In his monthly column, James will provide an introduction to the often unsung pioneers of electronic music, along with a compositional analysis of a recent track available through Beatport (he will also let us know what’s happening in Culprit 1 land from time to time).
