As a teenager growing up in Cambridgeshire, I’d go to free parties and clubs that played a lot of garage, but it wasn’t until I moved to Bournemouth that I found a real passion for dance music. My housemate would make me listen to progressive and funky house and at the end of our first year she took me to Homelands.
I discovered trance music when Godskitchen came to the BIC in Bournemouth a few months later and now I try to force trance upon anyone who’ll listen!
I combined my love for trance with my degree in journalism and for a few months I was the editorial assistant at Mixmag, who I now freelance for.
At the moment I live just around the corner from the Opera House and although I want to move to London at some point, now that Slinky has returned (and Turnmills has closed) I don’t think it’ll be any time soon!
Some of my all time favourite records are: Lost Witness - Happiness Happening (Lange Remix), Robert Miles - Children and Sander Kleinenberg - 808. My favourite artists are: Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, Marco V, Sander van Doorn, Lange, Above and Beyond, Paul van Dyk, Tiesto and Judge Jules.
Oh, and Global Gathering is my spiritual home.
