WMC 2008: The Miami Insider 005

You are, no doubt, beginning to feel a bit fatigued.

It’s been over 72 hours since you’ve caught some good sleep, but the party must go on.

Well, since you’ve been wandering around the Ultra Music Festival for the past five hours, and it’s only the first day of UMF, you might as well pack it up there and move on.

A good choice is right across the street (stumbling distance, people!).

WMC 2008: The Miami Insider 004

Five a.m., Thursday morning.

The sun’s beginning to crack the sky, and once again, you’re reminded why you bought the biggest, darkest pair of Aviator shades you could find before you got to Miami.

The next thought is inevitable: “What now?”

I am a Miami native, and have seen the WMC expand over the past 10 years that I’ve been participating in it.

It actually started out not long after I first got to mess around with some turnatables.

‘The Vanishing Point’ reaches 30,000 downloads

In today’s global-internet saturated culture, it gets pretty difficult to stand out from the rest, no matter what field you’re in.

Dance music, and dance music’s culture accounts for a significant share of internet downloads and page views in today’s world.

EDM related searches rank within the Top 10 of google searches last year.

Maybe you have podcast you’re trying to get noticed (don’t we all?).

Deon Butler is a success story in this “iEMPIRE,” taking a radio show from the nineties and bringing it to tne 21st century.

Miami Underground Experiences Evolution

Every DJ Generation (which I estimate to be about every 4 years) has them: the underground warriors.

Those DJs, promoters, and partiers who never tire of the music, the people or the parties we all love so dearly, and strive to push the limits just a little bit further.

These are men and women who put their own money, time, sweat and tears into their music and parties, all for “the beat.”

In Miami, a handful of people have pushed the limits of its underground to reach more people, mostly with Podcasts and the radio.
