Calling all hip hop freaks

As we’ve announced a few weeks ago, Beatport is deep in the process of developing and launching a fully focused storefront around the urban music community. This new site will be called Beatsource and will carry a similar look and feel to Beatport, but will only feature hip-hop and urban content.

Coming Soon: PromoOne

Let’s face it, promoting music is not easy. Managing mailing lists and delivering promos to DJs and press can be a real hassle. In the very near future, Beatport will offer our label partners a new, integrated solution for global digital promotion. This new service is aptly called PromoOne and will launch into beta by spring 2008.

We are Listening

Thanks for all the incredible input that we have received over the last three weeks. Some of the ideas were great, others were good reinforcement for features that we have been wanting to add for quite some time. Its always a challenge to decide where to draw the line. One thing that we guarantee, Beatport 4.0 is going to be another monumental update.

I Love DJing

I think that I was born with the desire to perform. From an early age I was always the class clown. In high school, my house was the location for some of the best parties. At those parties, I controlled the music. Not that I thought I was a DJ, but I knew I had the best music and my friends just took it for granted.

We realized that Beatport needed a way to embrace our community with more information about artists, labels, events and more, but Beatport.com just didn’t seem like the right place.
