Tiefschwarz have just the right amount of soul to get to Masters at Work.

The MAW ’99 Mix of ‘To Be in Love’ comes off like a disco revival, albeit with the renowned Masters at Work production.

By the time Tiefschwarz get a hold of it, ‘To Be In Love’ becomes a much edgier, updated dancefloor affair that can work in today’s house music sets.

This release is the ideal representation of the ability of two very different regions to work together to accomplish the same goal; Masters at Work, a duo of US house musicians Louie Vega and Kenny ‘Dope’ Gonzalez meet two brothers (Ali and Basti Schwarz AKA Tiefschwarz) from Germany manage to somehow see eye-to-eye on the goal of the song.

Though Tiefschwarz interprets the cut with their own unique take, the original feel is preserved.

East meets West?
