With the appetite for deep house among the electronic community seemingly insatiable at the moment, ‘Technique’, the debut LP from Motorcitysoul, could hardly have arrived at a better time.

Frankfurt duo Matthias Vogt and Christian Rindermann (C-Rock) have been carefully crafting their sound since 2003 but appear to have reached a definitive high point with this soul-encrusted album. 

Presenting a well-rounded and cohesive body of work, the duo ease vocals, strings and moments of relaxed restraint into 12 accomplished tracks.

Highlights arise via ‘Movement & Movement’, a slow burning vocal treat featuring Marlene Johnson; ‘The City’ with its playful synths and Motorcity percussion; and ‘Hermelin’, a number for late night horizontal listening.
