Park It In The Shade
Sasha [EmFire]
#04 in this month's The 20Even Sasha
is giving his two cents on the recent Ibiza crackdown that has seen more police targeting clubbers and pressure from the local government to clean up the clubs.
Following the successful launch of his label EmFire with ‘Coma’ ‘Park It In The Shade’ takes inspiration from all to familiar experience Sasha had recently with the island’s overzealous police.
The title of the track refers to an order that Sasha received when pulling up outside a club on the island.
“Park It In The Shade…I wish they were valet parking, unfortunately they were Guardia Civil at DC10 in Ibiza,” explains Sasha.
Despite the track’s theme, there’s little Ibiza lamenting on it, rather it’s a heavy hitting progressive house builder that ascends towards a tumultuous crescendo.
Mini breakdowns, shed loads of effects and a twinge of glitch give the track a techno edge.
“For myself and the few DJs I have handed it to this summer it has been an absolute highlight,” said the British DJ.
“I am glad it’s finally seeing a proper release.”
The mood of the track definitely fits with the current atmosphere of the island – it’s slightly anxious, oddly depressed.
But the big build up, soaring pads and eventual drop back into the repetitive bassline is hopeful.
The beats goes on, and so will Ibiza.
