Now Is The Time

Layo & Bushwacka [Olmeto Records]

#19 in this month's The 20

The music of Layo Paskin and Matthew “Bushwacka!” Benjamin has been fueling dancefloors for over a decade, so it’s no surprise that their newest release ‘Now Is The Time’ has climbed into Beatport’s Top 20 list.

‘Now’ is a DJ-friendly cut sporting a minimal intro and outro with a slow, progressive build, perfect to tease the crowd before that first kick drops in.

The vibe has an airy ambiance and can best be described as a Castenada-esque ride through psychedelia.

The song builds with subtle tribal undertones sprinkled with haunting voices and suggestive whispers, and sets the stage perfectly for the climactic “I Have a Dream” speech.

(Rather than being played out, these inspirational words still hold a wealth of emotion and energy and will always get a huge response from the dancefloor).

It’s beautiful house music with some techy elements wrapped up in a chill vibe.
