Mora EP

Leonid [Statik Entertainment]

#05 in this month's The 20

Leonid’s bass-heavy techno on ‘Mora’ leans towards the dark side, but the DJ-friendly intro and soft break gives the track a good warm-up potential.

Devoid of an obvious build-up, ‘Mora’ trickles along at an atmosphere-setting pace that will give empty floors an enticing feeling.

It’s progressive house but with a techno centre.

‘Mora Resting’ as one would expect from the title, is a downtempo chill out track that brings forth more melodies and soft synths than the original.

Without a kicking drum loop it’s left to be a brain soother, much like the final deep house track ‘Resting II’ which is based around drifting pads and a simple piano and bass combo.

A bongo loop and an injection of funk in the groove later down the line means DJs of the deeper persuasion will find it useful as a set opener.

Overall ‘Mora EP’ is a solid offering of deeper vibes.
