Known recently for the work with his band Alloy Mental, the established Phil Kieran returns with a solo outing ‘Missp’, adding Cocoon Recordings to his roster of labels.

The cut lives a dual life in being driving yet only slightly beyond minimal at the exact same time, but it is never sparse.

There’s even an element of playfulness that somehow manages to never fully take over in approach.

Then it’s the big room feel provided on the original that gets even bigger than life by the time label mates Pig & Dan get a hold of the cut.

But then again, big room is a specialty of Sven Väth’s Cocoon.

Look for it in an Amnesia club at a party near you this summer.
