live up to the hype with a gorgeously varied indie dance album that doesn’t drown under a symphony of drone noise.
Instead the band chose an enlightened path that includes vocal harmonies, soaring synthesizers and delicate whispers, dropped meaningfully over broken beats and downtempo treats.
At times the vocals are impossible to decipher, as the group uses them more as an instrument and percussion than for thought dissemination, but overall this is a powerful body of work that will escalate the band’s profile much further.
