All three offerings promote differing moods and textures with the only noticeable common thread being an indulgent use of compression.
Title track ‘Mamba Drums’ builds itself upon a patchwork of staccato synths and jangling percussion that fizz and pop along in a likeable enough fashion.
‘Thrill’ makes use of clever vocal snippets and Chicago stabs while personal favourite ‘Around’ is like a latter day ‘Soul in a Bottle’ that veers temporarily off into Minus territory before returning to the warmth that prompted this recommendation.
