Montreal group Guillaume & The Coutu Monts released some of the most innovative tech house of last year, including ‘Groovy Solitude’ and ‘Sous ‘L’Arbe’, and now they turn Style of Eye’s ‘L.D.R.’ into a driving dub house number.

Funky, uptempo and housey, Guillaume & The Coutu Monts demonstrate the soul of their music on their remix, which stems from Dumont’s history as a percussionist with a jazz band called Iks.

The drums are live and spontaneous, whilst the bassline and vocal samples give the track some old skool flavour.

Piano stabs, and an driving electrofied bassline in the second half take the track up a notch in the final half.

This is top quality house.

There’s also a downtempo minimal house remix of ‘Rockett’ by Berlin-based brothers Plasmik featuring a sexy guitar and some clever percussive synth hits.

A great release for those who like their tech house sprinkled with funk.
