‘Happy Birthday’ is a unique piece of art that can satisfy listeners anywhere,” Gernot Bronsert explained to Beatportal in October about the excellent Modeselektor album.
“With some tracks we wanted to create a club feeling and they are therefore more dancefloor orientated, and then there are tracks that we used to tell a story.”
It’s a story that includes grimy hip hop, electronica, techno and dubstep - the perfect soundtrack to a globalized urban landscape.
