label owner Claude VonStroke
[pictured] teams up with one half of the Martin Brothers to make his return after a year’s hiatus from music production.
It’s quickly impressed that there must be some voodoo in that San Francisco water, because this teaming of VonStroke and Christian Martin
seems to hit the mark straight on.
Lifting keys meet a playful bassline complemented by an array of sounds off to the side that seem to work perfectly.
Gabriel Ananda puts a slightly harder edge to the Original, with the help of newcomer Alice Rose.
By the time Chaim chimes in, ‘Groundhog Day’ is an almost spooky affair, in a dirty warehouse kind of way.
It’s Rusko’s version that is the greatest departure, taking the cut in a decidedly fast & dirty dubstep direction, leaving the listener not quite sure if it’s brilliant or just out of place.
Regardless, it’s good to hear VonStroke’s solid return with ‘Groundhog Day’, given further cred by the fact that he’s using his ears wisely to help push the talent of a newer face that could use the attention.
