Vocals as distinct as the ones featured on the ‘Federgewicht EP’ from Norwegians Ost & Kjex and Diynamic boss Solomun can easily make or break a track.

However in the case of ‘Federgewicht’ a successful marriage between quirky vocals and arpeggiated synths work in a way none too dissimilar to last years ‘Honeymoon’s Over’ by Snax. 

The ‘Olso Version’ is a full frontal attack of the above, while the ‘Hamburg Version’ moves down a level and pushes the percussion further to the fore.

A dub of the ‘Hamburg Version’ is included should the vocals not be considered your cup of musical tea.

This is something of a departure for Diynamic, and is certainly different for Solomun, but there’s much to be said for broadening one’s range.
