Electricity - Brendon Moeller

Featured Review #04

Electricity

Brendon Moeller [Leena Music]

#04 in this month's The 20

In what seems to be a recurrent theme in this month’s selection, ‘ Electricity’ is a showcase for dubbed-out delay synths - taking the baton from Basic Channel.

Here, the sharp attack, rich texture and constantly evolving echo effects really catch the ear and mesmerise.

The percussion is reserved - but creates the feeling of being just what is required to hold it all up.

‘Tiger’ uses the same ideas with a more solid bass, whereas ‘Sweet Decay’ strips the percussion right back creating a feeling of suspension.

A masterclass for the genre.
