#15 in this month's The 20

The Innervisions juggernaut marches on with a new collaboration between Ame, Dixon and Henrik Schwarz.

Dispensing with the vocal-led approach of 2006’s call-to-arms ‘Where We At’, the crew aim straight for the gut on Version 1 with wildly pitch-shifted saw bass and tribal chants.

Sebo K played this in Fabric recently and the roof nearly lifted off.

‘Version 2’ focuses more on the spiralling percussion, going deeper into space than the A-side.

Eerie woodwind melodies create a mid-track lull, before that huge stabbing synth line propels the track towards its chugging conclusion.

For those left bewildered by Laurent Garnier’s kitchen-sink attitude on ‘Back To My Roots’, this EP provides an irresistibly straightforward return to the big-room sound Innervisions made their name with.
