We love Luciano at Beatportal and think he’s one of the most forward-thinking artists in house and techno.

Luciano’s got style and charisma behind the decks too, which is why he was one of the most name-checked DJs of 2007.

His recent Fabric mix too was really good (although the tracklist was a little stale for hardcore Luciano followers).

At the moment Luciano is working hard on a new artist LP and he’s been playing a few of his new album’s tracks in his DJ sets recently, but it’s good to hear some new material from the mighty Chilean.

Luciano’s remix of Dave Aju ‘Crazy Place’ is typical Luciano, groovy, hip shaking and slightly bananas.

The 11 minute track starts off with a sexy bongo led shake, but towards the end of the track it delves into bizarre improvisational jazzy keys that flow over the minimal beats effortlessly.

It drifts from one mood to the next, creating a hypnotic journey filled with energy and exotic rhythms.

He takes it to a ‘Crazy Place’, indeed.
