French chappie Paul Nazca is one of the country’s top techno talents having had releases on Kompakt, Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten and Boxer. Here he remixes Martin Eyerer [pictured] and Tony Rios ‘Chorizo’ into a dark melodic techno throbber that Michael Mayer would be proud of.

Featuring trance synths, a huge extended breakdown and more anticipation than a 15-year-old outside a whore house the track teases and coaxes the listener / dancefloor with galloping bass and white noise drops.

On first listen it was hard to understand the desperation that Nazca manages to create on his remix of ‘Chorizo’.

It is fairly straight-forward.

But then we noticed that there was not one single kick drum on the track, just a pumping bassline.

Quite cleverly, Nazca has managed to create a colossal Frankenstein without a beating heart.

This is a proper DJ tool, perfect to drop when you want to create a moment of clarity.
