The house revolution continues apace here with its boundless reach seemingly touching all corners of the dance music world.

It seems even the likes of Berlin label Resopal Schallware have been bitten in some way by the virulent house music bug sweeping the scene. 

Usually a bastion of minimal and wonky techno, the label has turned to Brett Johnson for its latest release with a surprisingly Chicago-esque outcome.

‘Purple’ is a funky-arsed, bass-driven number that sidesteps the bleeps and squeaks in favour of jazzy flourishes and wah-wah synths.

In turn, ‘Running In Place’ ups the intensity but keeps the strong sense of hip-shaking rhythm, throwing in a tidy collection of synth plucks and drones for good main room measure.
