1. Will Private Messaging be available soon?
A. Yes
2. I'm having problems signing in to Beatportal. What should I do?
A. In order to log in to Beatportal your username must be at least four characters in length. If you have a username that contains fewer than four characters you will need to re-register or contact Customer Support to update your account.
3. I forgot my username / password. How do I retrieve them?
A. Click the 'Forgot Password' link in the upper right-hand corner of Beatportal. This will take you to our password reset page. You will need to enter your default email address to proceed any further. You will then receive an email with instructions for resetting your password, which will also include your username. This will reset your password for Beatportal, Beatport, and Beatsource.
4. I want to post my own content on Beatportal. Where do I start?
A. Log in to Beatportal.
Click the 'Submit Content' link above the main content window.
Select the type of content from the drop-down menu.
Fill in all pertinent information.
Upload your image (recommended) by clicking 'Browse'. Your image must be 442px wide and 280px high and in jpg, gif or png format.
Enter your article tags, separated by commas.
Enter any related links.
'Submit' your entry.

5. How can I receive regular updates from Beatportal?
A. In addition to the main and community feeds, Beatportal offers two other methods for keeping you up-to-date on the latest electronic music news: The 'Email Updates' option will send daily news feeds to your email address. You can sign up by entering your email address in the box to the left of the main content window. More specific updates are available through RSS subscriptions, keeping you up-to-date through any feed reader. To subscribe to RSS feeds, click the 'Get RSS' link above the main feed and select your desired topics.
6. I'm having problems uploading a remix to a remix competition. What can I do?
A.
  1. You may only upload MP3s (MIME-types "audio/mpeg") that are smaller than 10MB.
  2. Check that your browser is not blocking pop ups.
  3. Try using a different browser.
  4. Uploading to the web is slow. Please be patient when uploading a remix.
  5. If you've tried all of the above, try contacting Customer Service.
7. For remix contests, am I allowed to include my own musical samples?
A. Yes, you may include musical samples that were created by you. You may not however, use 'uncleared samples' in a remix. An 'uncleared sample' is a musical work, loop or sample that you don't own the copyright for (ie: you didn't create it).
8. Why does my remix entry become the legal property of the label for remix contest submissions?
A. Your remix contest submission becomes the legal property of the record label hosting the competition as protection against the release of unauthorized remixes in the form of bootlegs or on other record labels.
