Innerzone Orchestra’s Remix Contest
[Contest Over : 20 December, 2011]
If ever there were a song that needed no introduction, it’d be ”Bug in the Bass Bin,” recorded by Carl Craig under his Innerzone Orchestra alias.
Originally released on Craig’s Planet E label in 1992, it was an absolute game-changer, resonating far beyond the bounds of Detroit techno once pioneering junglists like Goldie got their hands on it, playing it at 45 and incorporating its shuddering syncopations into the foundations of drum ‘n’ bass.
The winner will have his or her remix released on Planet E, and will also take home a prize package including Native Instruments Maschine Mikro, iZotope Stutter Edit, the Sounds To Sample Elements Library, and $200 in Beatport credit.

The winning remix will rack up over $5000 in prizes including a TRAKTOR Scratch Pro 2, TRAKTOR S2, Novation Launchpad, Ableton Live 8, Elektron Octatrack, iZotope Stutter Edit, Sounds To Sample Elements Library and $200 in Beatport credits. The MUTE label team will narrow down their selections to 10 finalists; those 10, along with Beatportal’s top 10 community-voted remixes, will then move on to the final round, with Erasure themselves selecting the grand-prize winner. The submissions process begins on October 25, and the window for entries closes on Monday, November 7 10.00PM MST. Download the remix parts to get started.

[Contest Over : 19 July, 2011]
Come on, selecta! We’ve lined up a new remix contest, and if you like it buzzing, banging, and a little bit rude, it’s going to be right up your alley. The track you’ll be remixing is Afrojack and Quintino’s “Selecta” - a supersized electro-house anthem brimming with a squealing lead, blissed-out chord stabs, and a breakdown that’s so mental, the record ought to come with a straightjacket. Throw in the dancehall sample of the title, and you’ve got a massive, massive tune—and the makings of a potentially enormous remix.

Martin Solveig ‘Hello’ Remix Contest
[Contest Over : 22 March, 2011]
The French house producer turned electro-pop star Martin Solveig caught the world’s attention last year with ”Hello,” an infectious single featuring vocals from Dragonette and a chorus that simply wouldn’t quit. Now Solveig invites you to be a part of the action with his “Hello” remix contest, featuring over $7000 in prizes for four lucky winners.
UPDATE: A message from Martin Solveig & Mixture
“Hey! Thanks for all your efforts & remixes! It was great to see that so many of you had their own visions of “Hello”. The downside of receiving so many remixes is that it’s taking us much longer than what we had expected when originally scheduling the contest with Beatport. And as we want each & every remix to be given a chance we are now running late and have still not finished our listening process & selection. Gold digging takes time!
We’ll make sure with Beatport to keep you all updated. The full results will be here soon, thanks for your patience.”

Laidback Luke’s “Timebomb” Remix Contest featuring Jonathan Mendelsohn
[Contest Over : 18 January, 2011]
Laidback Luke has enjoyed an action-packed, decidedly un-laidback year. He’s worked with David Guetta, Diplo, A-Trak, Steve Aoki, and Lil Jon, and he’s remixed a host of artists, from Moby to Robyn. In addition to earning a #17 ranking in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll, Luke snagged an IDMA for his “Leave the World Behind” and three Beatport Music Awards nominations. Now he’s asking for your help in making 2011 an even bigger year for him.
Your mission: remix “Timebomb,” Luke’s new single, featuring Brooklyn vocalist Jonathan Mendelsohn. “Timebomb” has been getting rinsed in its instrumental version for a while now, but the addition of Mendelsohn—who also appears on Luke’s smash “Till Tonight"- brings a whole new dimension to the progressive/electro-house smasher.
The winning remix will be released on Luke’s on [[Mixmash Records]], and the winning remixer also takes home a “Timebomb” MP3 speaker signed by Laidback Luke, a Native Instruments Maschine, and a $200 Beatport voucher.

[Contest Over : 9 July, 2009]
If it wasn’t for Depeche Mode, electronic music might be very different. The English group’s innovation in the studio, particularly with their use of samplers, has influenced electronic music in uncountable ways.
The three pioneers of techno - Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson and Juan Atkins, regularly cited Depeche Mode as an influence when they were experimenting with Detroit techno in the mid 1980s, and Depeche Mode are often named by today’s leading DJs and electronic music artists as key influencers.
No other band of their stature has commissioned so many dance music producers to remix their work. The list so far includes Danny Tenaglia, Sasha, UNKLE, Paul van Dyk, Ricardo Villalobos, Booka Shade, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Michael Mayer, Rex The Dog, Ewan Pearson, Plastikman, Speedy J, Orbital, Blackstrobe, Underworld and Boys Noize.
The band’s connection to electronic music is more than just influence, it helped to give it a beating heart. That makes a Depeche Mode remix contest something special, and for the first time ever, the band have agreed to let the public remix one of their songs officially.
