T-Quest plays goodbye set at KozzMozz

T-Quest aka Stefaan Vandenberghe aka ... has been the undisputed resident of the famous KozzMozz events in Belgium for years.
Recently, due to his busy schedule - some say he’s Dr. Lektroluv - he decided to cut down on DJing.
So on 22nd December, he played his farewell dj set - but hopefully, he’ll be back on special occasions.
Over a decade ago, when “One Family” wasn’t a marketing slogan and clubbing was not an industry, there was a regular night called Kaoss at Belgium’s nightlife land mark Cherry Moon. The leading man behind those parties was a guy called Stefaan who managed not only to book the hardest and most innovating names but also was a superbly skilled dj. He also was the man behind Ghent based distribution company NEWS (probably best known through the amazing imprints MUSIC MAN, LEKTROLUV or countless compilations) and later also became the undisputed resident dj for KozzMozz, which is still today one of the longest running event in Belgium with a wall of fame that reads like a who’s who of a decade of Techno. Later he also started a successful residency at Brussels’ pride Fuse Club. And although he never confirms nor denies it, word goes round that he’s the man behind the mask of Dr. Lektroluv.
So, when the news came in last week that T-Quest would play his last set for KozzMozz on 22nd December, it set off a whirlwind of speculations and conspiracy theories throughout the belgian techno scene. For me personally, it was kind of a shocker but the kind you always saw coming. Everyone who knew Stefaan saw how out of control his agenda had grown and with a family on top of that, it was only a matter of time before he would have to take things a bit slower.
But still, it was a pretty sad moment for me and many others, remembering those countless sets we all heared him play over more then a decade. So a little tribute is definetely in order… and a packed Vooruit agreed for sure. As usual, when the big stage curtains opened at midnight, a massive wave of energy greeted T-Quest who blasted off with a massive set, to end finally with his own production Upiter. When Suburban Knight took over, and T-Quest waved goodbye to the crowd he got a huge sheer and applause from the entire room. A farewell in style, but not a goodbye we hope ;)
