As one of the world’s biggest DJs, Britain’s Sasha knows a thing or two about good music.

He has asked Beatportal to help him find one talented producer to remix his hit single ‘Mongoose’, one of the biggest tracks of the year, for his own record label emFire.

This is a huge competition as so far, only Sasha’s solo productions have appeared on the label.

So this is your chance to be the first ever artist (other than Sasha) to appear on emFire!

What’s more the remix competition is open to producers from all genres – Sasha’s looking for innovative, cutting-edge and thought-provoking mixes of his track.

With its guitar bass, freaky FX and mammoth breakdown, ‘Mongoose’ is the perfect track to play around with in the studio.

”I felt Mongoose would be a great track for any producer to Remix”, says Sasha.

“The sounds used in the production offer a wide range of creative opportunity, and I am excited to see what the Beatport community creates with them.”

As well as having their remix released on Sasha’s emFire, the winner will also receive a copy of Ableton Live 7 and will be interviewed by Beatportal.

And the two runners-up will receive Beatport download credits, a copy of Ableton Live 6 LE, and some Beatport gear.

COMPETITION RULES

1. Download the remix parts to ‘Mongoose’. There are two free parts available, and also a premium package containing all 13 parts to ‘Mongoose’ for $3.99 USD.
Please note: Remix parts are available in MP3 and WAV, but there is very little difference in sound quality so Beatport highly recommends not downloading the WAVs.
2. Remix the track into your chosen style. All genres are welcome.
3. Send your remix as an MP3 to remixsasha@beatport.com. All entries must include full contact details, telephone number and postal address. Note: If your email bounces back, your attached file is too large. We suggest resizing the MP3 to under 10 MB. Also try using a file sharing site such as yousendit.com and then send the retrieval information to remixsasha@beatport.com.
4. Competition closes February 11th 2008 at 11.59pm MST.
5. One winner and two runners-up will be chosen by Sasha and announced on February 27th 2008.
6. The winning remix will be released on emFire.
7. Tracks using uncleared samples from sources outside of these ‘Mongoose’ parts will be disqualified.
8. All remixes submitted for this contest become the legal property of emFire records.
