BBC Radio 1’s new electro show

Britain’s flagship youth radio station BBC Radio 1 today announced that electro DJ Kissy Sell Out has joined the station. They’ve refreshed their dance music show ‘In New DJs We Trust’, and the 22-year-old mash-up/electro DJ will jointly present the show alongside its three current hosts Misstress De Funk, Kutski and Profressor Green.

“I am delighted to welcome Kissy Sell Out to ‘In New DJs We Trust’,” said BBC Radio 1’s Head of Programmes Ben Cooper.

“He has emerged from London’s cutting edge club scene and has exceptional talent and energy plus a very distinctive sound that will appeal to an important cross-section of our specialist audience.

“‘In New DJs We Trust’ is an ever-evolving show whose mission is to ensure Radio 1 stays at the forefront of new music.”

Kissy Sell Out (check out his tunes below) said, “I am tremendously honoured to have been taken on by Radio 1.

“The MP3 generation has changed everything and it’s fantastic to see the station I grew up with staying as relevant as ever.

“Everyday I hear new music which has the power to change dancefloors forever, and now I have the opportunity to showcase such exciting new talent. I can’t wait to get stuck in and mash it up big time!”

Kissy will take his place behind the Radio 1 decks on 21st July 2007, 2am - 4am. The DJs will be on rotation each week and will share the job of presenting ‘In New DJs We Trust’.
