Belly Dancing - Guy Gerber

Belly Dancing

Guy Gerber [Cocoon]

#03 in this month's The 20

As Israel’s prince of production, Guy Gerber [a] can do no wrong. His massive ‘Stoppage Time’ tune on Bedrock Records was one of the biggest tracks of 2004.

And since then, Gerber has continued to release mind-blowing delicate techno and progressive on Cocoon, Great Stuff, and his own Supplement Facts record label.

Here Gerber investigates his Middle Eastern heritage and pays homage to the Arabic belly dance.

Combining Arabic chords with techno rhythms and electronic beats sounds like a recipe for disaster, but Guy Gerber glides through it with ease on the lead track.

On the B side ‘Sea of Sand’, Patrick Zigon delivers a sweet floaty techno experience. Breathe it in, and relax.
