Wolfgang Voigt + Jörg Burger present Mohn
Mohn is the new collaborative project from Kompakt’s Jörg Burger and Wolfgang Voigt, whose 1996 album Las Vegas remains one of the crowning achievements of Cologne techno (and, indeed, ‘90s electronica, full stop).
So far, they’ve only released two songs as Mohn—first on last year’s Total 12 and now Pop Ambient 2012—but they have a new album on the way, due out April 23.
If you’re in Berlin for Club Transmediale this week, you can catch Mohn live tomorrow night at HAU 1; keep reading to check out a video preview of the live set.

Hear new music from Oneohtrix Point Never’s Software label
Oneohtrix Point Never fans, take note: this week, Daniel Lopatin and Joel Ford’s Software label released two new records, both of which should satisfy your cravings for off-center synth-pop.
The debut album from New York’s Megafortress is a heartbreakingly beautiful four-track EP encompassing reverb-soaked R&B lullabies, churchly organ drone and ethereal falsetto; for fans of How To Dress Well and James Blake, it comes highly recommended.
Rejoice is the debut album from Napolian, the 19-year-old producer behind Los Angeles’ Renaissance Music Group. Far than the devotional mood of Megafortress, Napolian’s warbly music proposes an unstable hybrid of ‘80s electro-funk and ‘90s R&B with elements of juke, trap music, ambient, and more. It’s an ambitious project, and it’s out there, but the more time you spend with it, the more sense it begins to make.
Finally, if you missed its limited vinyl release, Ford & Lopatin’s collaborative EP with Shannon Funchess and Tamaryn is out digitally on Mexican Summer; check it out on Beatport here.

Surge featuring Pyxis: Leech
Croydon producer Surge and Kaleidofly vocalist Pyxis offer this spooky, beautiful track, “Leech,” off of DJ N-Type’s Wheel & Deal Records. Huge bass, ethereal vocals and synthetic brass swells set the stage for this equally creepy video. The track has been gaining some steam through spins on Kiss FM, Rinse FM, and Get Darker. Surge’s dubstep debut is set for January 30th, with more following close behind.

Rusko teams up with Cypress Hill
Going from “Cockney Thug” to straight-up West Coast gangsta, Rusko has made some new friends since his move to Southern California. Taking the next step in diversifying dubstep’s format, he’s teamed up with the iconic rap crew Cypress Hill. The upcoming project promises a five-track EP due in April, but SPIN is giving away the group’s first single for free. (Their headline? “How I Could Just Skrill A Man.” Touché, SPIN!) “Roll It, Light It” is a smoker’s anthem bridging the gap between Rusko’s festival dubstep sounds and the tested Cypress Hill formula.
