Boxcutter’s latest album on Planet Mu, ‘Arecibo Message’ has been described by many as his greatest and most intelligent body of work yet.

Jamie Vex’d [Planet Mu]
Jamie Vex’d has had a busy year what with re-locating to Berlin, having his first child and embarking on his ambitious solo career, so it’s amazing that he’s still managing to lead the electronica and dubstep pack with his ingenuity in the studio.
This track, his first solo release since departing ways with Roly Porter is a science fiction, soul driven mind bender of a track with obscure beat patterns and deep vocal samples.

London’s LD
has been mastering records for some of the scene’s most influential producers down at the infamous Transition studios, and it is through his experiences of listening to some of the finest crafted dubstep sounds around that he has now managed to perfect his own unique style.
His previous recordings with Kode 9
had leaned towards the funkier sounds coming out of urban London with ‘2 Bad’ bringing the tempo right down and reaching out to the house crowd.

Mount Kimbie were included in the handful of artists selected by Beatportal as ones to watch in 2009, and this, their debut release on Hotflush Recordings
is a clear indication as to why they were chosen.
With an extended intro consisting of nothing more than reverberated guitars, the 2 step kick shuffle kicks in at around 1:30, with added claps, clicks and sublime child like vocal snippets thrown in.
