Kompakt is an electronic music record label, record shop, vinyl and CD distributor based in Cologne, Germany.

The label was set up by three techno DJs, Wolfgang Voigt [a], Michael Mayer [a] and Jürgen Paape.

Kompakt [l] specializes in techno and its myriad of micro genres. The label is particular known for its minimal techno output.

Some of the label’s most famous contributors include Superpitcher [a], The Orb [a], The Field [a], Justus Köhncke and Jürgen Paape.

In recent years, Kompakt has also helped to fuse trance with minimal techno thanks to producers like Brazil’s Gui Boratto [a] and Aril Brikha [a].
