Fluential, is the legendary tech and tribal house label that could be considered the black sheep of the Defected
label family, it’s like Defected’s bad brother, the one that is a little edgy, unpredictable and goes to the best clubs. It’s your duty to warn everyone – Fluential, the bad brother is back.
It was recognised quite early that an alternative label was needed for Defected
. This idea was considered carefully and in early 2002 Fluential was born.
From its initial conception in it has always been an outlet for the development of new up and coming artists. The labels sound has a much deeper, techier flavour. It was the label that first put tracks out by Tedd Patterson
, Kidstuff
, Smokin Jo
, Paul Jackson
, and Gene Farris
. Always remaining a special and well respected imprint designed to put out new underground tracks to house heads everywhere that would not necessarily fit the typical Defected profile.
The aim is to bring through new producers and establish new relationships without having to keep a constant eye on the chart action. This label is designed to have a more techy, edgier, sound and it’s a outlet for artists to work in different guises and genre’s. A wicked facility if you want to try something new.
The sound of Fluential varies from techy, pulsing house to the downright deep and dirty. There is no fixed music policy and is a great place for tougher tracks to be introduced to the underground. The label has earned a reputation for producing quality time after time and from this some big tunes have arisen, Tedd Paterson’s ‘Magnifique’, Kidstuff’s ‘Alright’, Del Gado’s ‘Coffee Beats
’ to name but a few.
Fluential is now back after a 3 year’s in rehab. It’s been hanging back patiently waiting to strike back and get messy again. With new releases from the Likes of Zoo Brazil
, H.O.S.H . Sulten & Ned Shepherd and Tapesh
, the caliber speaks for itself.
Fluential previously considered a vinyl only label has now become future proof and will release Digital only tracks. Look out for three new singles planned to drop within the next month.
